Day X is a possible day from which an open or covert attack against Lithuania's security could begin.
It may or may not happen. But it is necessary to prepare for it.
As I delve deeper into this topic, I realize that it is important for us to talk about it, discuss it, and know as much as possible. I came up with the idea of initiating an open discussion in Birštonas, the city where I currently live.
What will we discuss?
- What should a resident of Birštonas know if Day X happens?
- How could each of us contribute to Lithuania's defense and security?
- What does preparation mean not in theory, but in practice?
I invite you to come to the Birštonas Community Center "Caritas", Birutės St. 10A ( https://maps.app.goo.gl/qHTdBE4x1etvVw217 ) this Sunday, March 15 at 1:00 PM – to listen, ask questions, chat and discuss what is important.
The following will participate in the discussion:
- Laurynas KASČIŪNAS – former Minister of National Defense.
- Arūnas DEGUTIS – signatory of the Act of the Supreme Council of the Republic of Lithuania on the Restoration of the Independent State of Lithuania.
- Captain Rimantas IGNATAVIČIUS – Military Commandant of the Prienai District Municipality of the Kaunas Regional Military Commandantate of the Lithuanian Armed Forces Military Commandantate Board.
- Edvardas CITVARAS – Vice-Mayor of Birštonas Municipality.
