The Birštonas Cultural Center presents an exhibition of works by the finalists of the 24th national competition "Lithuanian Press Photography" - an annual visual look at current events, emotions, everyday life, and exceptional events in Lithuania and the world, captured through the eyes of press photographers.
The exhibition features works in eight categories for professionals, as well as an “Open Category”, which for the second year now offers the opportunity to participate to photography students and amateurs. This year, more than 100 works from all over Lithuania were submitted to this category. Shown alongside works by professional photographers, these images add a fresh, personal perspective to the exhibition and broaden the horizons of contemporary documentary photography.
The 2025 exhibition is complemented by a new nomination – “When EU Investments Are Visible”, which aims to capture a photographic image of Lithuania changing thanks to European Union investments. This initiative, carried out in cooperation with the Lithuanian Journalists’ Union and the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Lithuania, reveals how public investments transform people’s lives and the environment.
"Lithuanian Press Photography" is not only a competition, but also an annual reflection, inviting us to stop, look back at the past year, share insights and emotions, and witness time through images. The exhibition aims to strengthen photographic culture, promote professional dialogue, and invite the public to get to know themselves more deeply through real, authentic shots.
