about

The exhibition "Unexpected Encounter" invites you to a special artistic space where seven different creators, their experiences, worldviews, and artistic forms of expression come together. It is a dialogue between different life paths, creative quests, and inner discoveries.
This exhibition reveals how unexpected turns in life can lead to creativity, and how different experiences can merge into a common, lively, and sensitive artistic narrative.

Artists
Giedre Pipinyte-Grunskiene
An artist whose creative path was shaped by years of experience in the business world. Having discovered her true calling in art, she qualified as an art and design teacher and immersed herself in creativity. In her works, not only the image is important, but also materiality - a thick, textured surface formed layer by layer also reveals the sensory aspect of creativity.

Vaiva Malinauskiene
The artist creates intuitive, lyrical oil paintings. Her works are dominated by natural motifs - flowers, changing landscapes, in which not only the image is important, but also its pulse, the flickering of light. Observation and free strokes are significant in her work. She studied painting independently, deepening her knowledge with famous artists and at the ADDAM courses of the Vilnius Academy of Arts.

Birute Gadisauskiene
Her work reflects impressions of travels, meetings and reality. The painting is expressive, colorful, full of emotion. Spanish motifs stand out in particular. Over the nine years of her creative career, she has held about 30 personal exhibitions, and her works are exhibited in various cultural spaces in Lithuania.

Edita Kundrienė
A creator whose artistic language is formed where feeling and form meet. Her works explore inner states, and the intersections of colors, lines, and shapes convey movement and emotional tension. Creativity is a way to speak without words and find beauty in the most unexpected places.

Kristia Lukauskiene
Her paintings are distinguished by subtle color transitions, flashes of light, and textured strokes reminiscent of the movement of water. Blue, green, and gray backgrounds create a meditative atmosphere, while lines in warm shades bring a sense of hope, light, and life.

Indre Vencloviene
The paintings are born from feelings, the mood of the moment, and spontaneous strokes that express inner experiences and emotions. Abstract images of nature, figures, and neutral, earthy colors dominate the work.

Veda Martinaitienė
Born in Vištytis, lives in Birštonas since 1968.
Having discovered her passion for creativity 20 years ago, Veda searched for herself in various techniques: macrame, batik, quilting, paper cutting, symegraphy, etc.
Since 2014, she has been teaching painting classes at the adult art department of the Birštonas Art School, led by painter Remigijus Janušaitis. In 2019, she exhibited her works at the personal exhibition "The Path to Yourself" held at the Birštonas Kurhaus, in 2022 at the personal exhibition "Sielos krebždesiai" at the Birštonas Sacral Museum, and participates in joint exhibitions. Since 2022, she has been a member of the Lithuanian Folk Artists Union.
"Sometimes it's worth stopping and listening to yourself, overcoming your limitations, discovering something new, vibrant within yourself, and giving in to the impulse to seek self-expression," V. Martinaitienė invites visitors to the exhibition.
"My work is born between the landscape and inner states. When I paint, I do not seek to exactly replicate the landscape - I experience it and recreate it, leaving room for interpretation. Nature for me is not just a place, it is an emotional space where time, light, and experience merge. Through color and stroke, I try to capture not form, but mood. Recurring motifs are important to me - trees, water, birds... They become a kind of landmark that allows me to explore transformation: from peace to tension, from reality to an almost dreamlike sensation.
"Painting is a sacred time for myself, a form of relaxation, when I can be myself, be free, independent, with my own mood, thoughts, attitude. I learn to listen to myself, relax and hear the cries of the soul. I disconnect my mind, let my hand move freely on the canvas, intuitively select colors, improvise, search and experiment," says Veda about her hobby.
