Exhibition "BIRSTON PANORAMA"
Past–Present. 1920-2025
The exhibition opens on Friday, November 14, at 5 p.m.
Birštonas is constantly changing – growing, renewing, living. However, even as time changes, some images of the city remain recognizable, like silent signs of our memories. This exhibition invites us to stop and look at Birštonas from above – from the perspective of the city panorama.
Photographer Kastis Juras, in a series of images spanning more than a century, juxtaposes photographs of the city from 1920 to the present day. The same buildings, streets, and urban accents unfold here like a timeline: the city's history, moving from old archival images to the present, allows us to see how not only architecture has changed, but also the human relationship with place, space, and nature.
This is a visual path leading from the resort's peaceful origins to a modern resort town where tradition and innovation meet.
The exhibition invites us to reflect: what changes over time, and what remains the same? What does "the city" mean, how does it maintain and reinvent itself?
