We invite you to meet one of the ambassadors of the Year of the Book initiative of all Lithuanian libraries - the Book Lady.
Nora Žaliūkė is a book blogger, known on social media as Knygų Dama. She posts her insights on the latest literature and book recommendations on social media.
Her insightful, inspiring book reviews are loved and welcomed by her followers. The Book Lady has established a kind of book club on social media where you can discuss the books she reviews.
During the meeting, the Book Lady will reveal why reading brings her joy, and that books are not just decorations on shelves, but tickets to the whole world. The ambassador of the "Year with a Book" initiative to promote reading will talk about the journey she has taken with books, and will touch on a sensitive topic - how books helped her endure grief. According to Nora Žaliūkė, reading changes people, and she herself is an example of this.
Nora says: "In books, I discovered myself, life lessons, friends - book characters, the beauty of language, the meaning of libraries and all the little cute rituals. I can't help but share what inspires me, even when it's very difficult and the days seem impossible."
Nora Žaliūkė graduated from VU with a degree in book publishing and worked in a library for a while. She is currently raising two children. And, of course, she reads, reads, reads. Thank you to her for sharing and inspiring us to read.
