In 1973, a young gallery assistant, James, is hired to help Salvador Dalí organize a major exhibition of his works in New York. But instead of learning the tricks of the art world from the master, James finds himself drawn deeper into the artist's complicated world - Dalí and Gala's marriage is falling apart, and the painter turns out to be completely dependent on his exploitative colleagues.
