In April 2015, a safe deposit box in London's Hatton Garden district was robbed. According to the victim's company, the thieves stole jewels and cash worth around £200 million. The biggest theft in English history immediately caught the attention of the British, but they were in for an even bigger surprise when it became clear who had conceived, planned and carried out this extraordinary theft. The head and planner of the operation was 77-year-old widower Brian Ryder (played by Michael Caine). Naturally, he also chose his team from people like himself: five of the remaining six members of the gang were already over sixty.
