about
"The pianist surprised with her mature, very suggestive and refined temperamental treatment of the works; as if without any physical effort, easily treating the most complex virtuoso level music, she was shocked by her particularly suggestive interpretation," - this is how music critics responded to Milda Umbrusevičiūtė's solo recital "Breakthrough".
In recent years, Milda Umbrusevičiūtė's solo programs have been performed at: St. James's Church (London), Christopher Festival (St. Catherine's Church, Vilnius), Rudolf Steiner Haus Hall (Hamburg, Germany), "Voices of the World" (Amber Museum, Palanga). The pianist has given recitals at Kaunas State Philharmonic, Klaipėda Concert Hall, Organum Concert Hall, Paliesius Manor, Music Magic Club in Vilnius, etc. Her solo concerts have been broadcast and recorded by LRT KLASIKA radio. She has also performed in the Czech Republic, Finland, Great Britain, Italy, and Germany.
The pianist was awarded a letter of appreciation from the President of the Republic of Lithuania, Valdas Adamkus, for her achievements in international competitions. In 2011, Milda graduated from the class of Prof. Halina Radvilaitė and received a Master of Performing Arts degree from the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre. The performer's musical path was enriched by studies at the Sibelius Academy in Finland.
The creative breakthrough of unique composers – MK Čiurlionis and M. Ravel – will be heard in one concert program. Born in the same year – 1875, these artists matured and developed their creative ideas in different, unique cultural environments. Although they were separated by geographical and cultural environment, their music combines a similar freedom of imagination, innovative artistic intuition and courage to transcend the boundaries of tradition.
Both composers matured during a period of transformation in the arts, and reached their creative breakthrough at a similar time – the beginning of the 20th century. The program of this concert will feature works from 1905 and 1908 that transcended their time: breathing mysticism, distinguished by innovative harmonies and venturing into undiscovered musical realms.
"Breakthrough" is not only a retrospective look at the legacy of two prominent creators, but also a resounding dialogue of their ideas.
Milda's student, Mila Kudriavceva, will also perform at the concert. She is a laureate of not only international pianist but also ballet dance competitions. Mila is a person of special sensitivity to art and great creative potential.
