about
"Couples Therapy" is a one-part psychological comedy about a relationship where patience has run out, but there's still a handful of love left.
Eglė (G. Glemžaitė) is a young mother desperately trying to save her family. Tired of crises, insomnia, and the constant cynicism of her husband Marčius (J. Jankevičius), she tricks him into "untraditional" couples therapy with a strange but incredibly effective specialist, Algimantas (A. Kaniušonis).
The psychologist doesn't mince words, and instead of calm conversations, he uses a few unconventional treatment methods. Algimantas provokes, manipulates, traumatizes, and heals at the same time, but all so that the couple can finally talk, break through, and perhaps... heal.
In the play, laughter meets painful truth, and grotesque situations reveal how love often hides under anger, irony, and resentment. This is a story about two young fathers who can still save their family — if only they dare to listen to each other. The creators of the comedy promise that the abundance of absurd situations will invite the audience to laugh a lot and laugh out loud.
