About the project

Birštonas Tourism Information Center, together with its Polish partner – the Elk City Municipality – is implementing project No. LTPL00290 “ Workation as a Cross- Border Tourism Destination ”.

The main project partner is the Municipality of Elk, Poland.

The aim of the project is to strengthen the role of culture and sustainable tourism in economic development, social inclusion and social innovation.

Project objectives :
to increase the awareness of the border region as a tourist destination,
reduce the seasonality of the tourism industry,
promote more efficient use of natural resources for tourism services,
integrate tourism needs with social and educational aspects,
promote joint tourism products – create a "Darbostogus" brand, which will increase the awareness of the region, reduce the seasonality of tourism, and promote social innovations.

Expected results after project implementation :
The dissemination of tourism resources will be ensured;
A positive image of the resort is being formed in Lithuania and abroad;
Cross-border cooperation will be strengthened;
The "Darbostogus" brand will help attract tourists and reduce seasonality;
Implementing marketing measures will increase the number of Lithuanian and foreign tourists;
The supply and diversity of tourism services will increase. Small and medium-sized businesses will have more opportunities to expand.

Total project value : EUR 159,592.50, of which EUR 127,674.00 is financed by the Interreg VI-A Lithuania and Poland program.

The Birštonas Tourism Information Center project's share of funds amounts to 70,417.50 euros, of which 56,334.00 euros are financed by the European Union.
