About the event
The passion of Argentine tango, the refined sound of the guitar, the vibrating sounds of the bandoneon, accompanied by the delicate approval of the string quartet… Such a pleasant mood is invited by the concert, in which good friends from the stage meet again – the inventive “Čiurlionis Quartet” and the guitar and bandoneon masters from Italy – Giampaolo Bandini and Cesare Chiacchiaretta. This is a duo formed in 2002, which immediately attracted an international audience with its passion for music, communicative power, and personal charm. The duo tours all over the world, receiving recognition from the audience, and was awarded the XV “Beniamino Joppolo” Prize in Patti (Messina, Sicily) for high artistic merits in the field of music. Their first CD “Hombres de Tango” received a favorable assessment from experts. G. Bandini and C. Chiacchiaretta are guest teachers at academies and universities, teaching at the Luigi Boccherini School in Lucca and the Tito Schipa School in Lecce, and conducting master classes at the Gubbio and Portogruaro summer festivals and elsewhere.
Together with the Čiurlionis Quartet, the duo prepared a longing program of music by Ástor Piazzolla and Steve Gross, which immerses you in and makes you forget about everyday worries and routine.
