We invite you to visit the exhibition "Greetings from Birštonas! The interwar period in resort postcards, advertisements and radio texts", which reveals the life of the interwar Birštonas resort, its advertising and the impressions of vacationers.
During the resort season, vacationers could purchase postcards with images of Birštonas at photographer Juozas Skrinskas' photo-art establishment. In them, they described their impressions, daily worries or wishes and sent them to family members, friends and colleagues in various parts of Lithuania or abroad.
The exhibition features photographs of Birštonas from the period of independent Lithuania, which capture images of the resort at that time. Copies of documents are also presented - resort rules, texts advertising Birštonas read on the air of the State Radio in Kaunas, and postcards sent from Birštonas by vacationers.
Visitors will also be able to familiarize themselves with the interwar resort's advertising, which invited guests to arrive conveniently by salon bus from Kaunas, use the sanatorium's treatment procedures, stay in modern villas, enjoy various meals and numerous entertainments, so that their vacation in Birštonas would be meaningful and memorable.
The exhibition will run until August 30, 2026.
