About the artist
Matas Jankauskas (born 1992, Kaunas, Lithuania) is a pianist and piano teacher, developing concert and pedagogical activities. He began his musical education at the Kaunas J.Naujalis Music Gymnasium, and later continued his piano studies at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester (United Kingdom), where he studied in the class of Professor Colin Stone.
Matas has participated in several international piano competitions, which have been an important part of his professional development. In 2025, he won 2nd place at the 2nd International Vienna Piano Competition “Wiener Klassik” (Vienna, Austria). He has also participated in numerous master classes with renowned pianists, including Jerome Lowenthal, Stephen Hough, Dmitri Alexeev, Andrzej Jasiński, Graham Scott, Philippe Cassard, Michel Béroff, Stefano Fiuzzi, Gabrielius Alekna, Edvinas Minkštimas and Giuseppe Devastato.
