A new musical project "Gala Žvaigzdes": theater, classics, and pop will meet on one stage.
This fall, Lithuanian music and theater fans will have the opportunity to experience a new, grandiose project "Gala žvaigždės", which will unite three different stage worlds. Singer and actress Oneida Kunsunga, singer Vaida Genytė and singer Egidijus Sipavičius, known as the gentleman of the stage, together with a professional string quartet, pianist Giedriums Naku and guitarist Kostas Balčiūnas, will present an elegant program that will intertwine classical music, old pop melodies and theater aesthetics.
The concert will feature songs by actors: Kostas Smoriginas' "Birds", Saulius Mykolaitis' "Matrix", works from Lithuanian musicals - "The Devil's Bride", "Love and Death in Verona", as well as from classic films: "Gladiator", "The Great Showman". However, Lithuanian pop melodies will also be unforgettable: "Nut Blossom", "Flower of the Fields", "Summer, Summer". Somewhat unexpectedly, the Italian pop piece "Bella Ciao" and Egidijus Sipavičius' own piece "Discoteka" in a string arrangement together with Vaida Genyte and Oneida Kunsunga will also be heard.
The creators of "Gala Žvaigzės" promise an evening where not only music but also atmosphere will be important, therefore new arrangements of works, refined and delicate scenography, and exclusive costumes are being created especially for this project, all of which will allow the audience to immerse themselves in a festive, elegant musical journey.
"I wanted to create a concert where different genres of music and theater would meet, but they would be united by an uplifting, festive emotion. The dramaturgy of the evening was created so that each performance would be an independent experience, and the entire event would be like a seamless, elegant story," says Oneida Kunsunga.
The evening's program will feature new takes on classical arias and familiar pop melodies, enriched with string arrangements. The entire program is structured like a musical story - from sensitive and nostalgic moments to impressive climaxes.
Vaida Genytė says that the uniqueness of this project lies in the meeting of different performers.
"All three of us are very different, which is why unexpected musical dialogues are born on stage. I think that's what makes this program special - we each bring our own color to it, but together we create one common story," says the artist.
The professional musicians joining the performers will play much more than just accompanists. The musical textures created by the string quartet will add new colors to each piece, while the piano and guitar will add even more dynamics and emotion to the program.
"I am always interested in looking for unexpected musical combinations. In this program, classical sound will meet with pop and theater elements, so I believe that the audience will be in for a truly exceptional evening," says Egidijus Sipavičius.
