Birštonas Art School Adult Art Studio RETROSPECTIVE EXHIBITION

This retrospective exhibition of the adult painting studio is a reflection of twenty years of creative togetherness, growth and loyalty to art. The studio's creator and founder, artist Remigijus Janušaitis, brought together people from various walks of life two decades ago, united by the desire to paint, create and be together. His initiative gave birth to not only painting classes, but also a lively creative community that grew through plein airs, conversations and shared experiences. As a teacher and inspirer, Remigijus Janušaitis helped the participants discover their own creative voice, and painting became for many not only an artistic expression, but also a way of self-knowledge. Over the twenty years, a total of 30 members have created and grown in the group. During this time, 28 exhibitions have been held, two members of the group have become folk artists. Five members of the studio actively organize personal exhibitions. This testifies not only to the continuity of creative activity, but also to the ability of the community to promote individual artistic growth and self-expression. The exhibition reveals various stages of creativity – from the first timid strokes to mature works. The exhibition opens up not only the totality of different works, but also time – from the first attempts to a deeper relationship with color, landscape and personal artistic expression. It reminds us that adult painting is neither a question of academic preparation nor a definition of amateurism. Creativity has no age or professional boundaries – it connects people, encourages them to grow, feel and share beauty. However, the most important question remains open: what has connected these people for twenty years? Is it just painting? Or maybe a common need to stop, see more sensitively and create a connection through creativity – with oneself, with others and with time, while quietly returning to childhood dreams that were once postponed or unfulfilled?
