"Druskupis" mineral water evaporation facility

The only one of its kind in Lithuania is the mineral water evaporation facility "Druskupis" in Birštonas, where you can enjoy the exceptionally healthy "sea effect" air.

People living in the resort and visiting city guests can try inhalations under the open sky, strengthen their health and temper their body with light therapy. In the Vytautas Jurgis Meškos Park, in an open, original-architecture mineral water evaporation tower-pavilion with a mineral water fountain and a salt gallery, the mineral water flowing through the walls of the evaporator, exposed to the sun and wind, evaporates on its own in the tower itself and even within a radius of 50–80 m around it, allowing you to breathe in “sea effect” air enriched with minerals beneficial to health. The air enriched with mineral water drops has the same effect as breathing sea air, so you will feel as if you are walking on the seashore. Mineral water is supplied to the evaporation tower “Druskupis” from a mineral water well called “Rūta”.

The “sea effect” air emitted by the evaporator allows for a comprehensive combination of rehabilitation procedures and wellness treatments performed in Birštonas sanatoriums with natural factors of nature, which will only further enhance the treatment effect and help patients get back on their feet faster. Breathing salt-saturated air is especially beneficial for patients with various respiratory diseases, among other things, this type of air is beneficial for the skin – when exposed to mineral water, it becomes smoother, more elastic and clearer. Meditating while watching the trickling water improves well-being and helps overcome nervous tension.
